Janet Corwin — (Weston, CT)
As an adult rider, I've had my share of ups and downs with ex-horses and ex-trainers, as is the nature of the sport. After a particularly bad experience, I found myself horse shopping on the web and happened upon one of Suzanne Fisher's ads. Although younger than what I had in mind, Suzanne's description of the 6 year old gelding was so straightforward and appealing that I had to call about him. She was extremely forthcoming regarding his background, qualities, and even his flaws. After a short trial period, during which time Suzanne assured me that if the match didn't work she would find a suitable one, I bought my beautiful chestnut TB/H cross "Just Kidding". I then switched barns to train with Suzanne at Sunset Hill Farm. Kidd has proven to be exactly as she described, if not better!
I had heard of Suzanne's reputation as a highly respected horsewoman, in the tradition of her family, and it is certainly well merited. Her honesty and integrity is a rarity in the horse world. I don't know that I would have undertaken the challenge of bringing along a young horse if not for Suzanne's day to day support, guidance and supervision. My admiration for her riding, management and health maintenance skills grows daily.
I feel extremely fortunate that my riding journey led me to a wonderful new partnership with a horse I can grow with and an exceptional trainer dedicated to that goal.

Kathy Noel — Pondview Farm, Owner (Bethlehem, CT)
I have known Suzanne for several years now both as a professional horsewoman and as a friend. Without a doubt she is one of the most honest horse people I know. I've bought and sold horses and ponies thru Suzanne over the years and her concern for suitability between horse a rider is a major part of the sale. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for the perfect match. She takes her time and puts a lot of effort into all she does. Even though we are friends, the professionalism never ceases thru the purchase or sale of a horse or pony. Suzanne has also judged schooling shows at my barn and I find doing business with her of any kind, to always be pleasant.

WelshWay Farm — Robin Schmidt, Owner (Binghamton, NY)
Tashua Farm owner, Suzanne Fisher, was generous with time and information about the progress of the pony I sent her for sale. She was thoroughly professional, had a talent for matching the pony with the right rider, and tended to under promise and over deliver . . . a 'just right' combination, and in our case the pony sold in a week. She held off taking him until she knew she had appropriate clients and in so doing, saved us money.

Sari Pace (San Francisco, CA)
Suzanne scouted me out as thirteen year old with a natural talent that lacked the correct direction. Our relationship was more of a sisterhood as she handed over multiple opportunities year after year for me to ride anything I could get my hands on. Through our relationship I grew from a girl who could ride to a girl that could accomplish any goal my mind was put up to because someone believed in me. Every dream was met from qualifying for Madison Square Garden to ending up first in the nation one year. Most important was the life lesson I carry with me today. I learned that good things only come to those that work hard at all aspects of their passions whether it be cleaning a barn, taking care of horses, to being dedicated to what you truely believe in, learning to effectively communicate feelings, and never give up especially when people doubt you. I wouldn't be the person I am today without the guidance of Suzanne in my adolescent years. For that I thank her.

Lynn Briganti, Owner of Giselle (aka 'Girlie') (Rye, NY)
After retiring a wonderful "tried and true" horse, I was ready to devote my time in pursuit of some serious riding. My trainer Lonnie Lum - Curran brought in an accomplished mare from Suzanne. And, it was love at first sight! The challenges I face as an adult rider getting back into competition and day to day riding skills has been an exhilarating experience with my mare. My horse, Giselle "a.k.a. Girlie" has taught me so many valuable lessons about myself, my riding skills and confidence as an adult rider again in the show ring. As a team, Girlie and I have faced ups and downs and breakthroughs in our quest for "getting it right"!
With the help of my trainer Lonnie and the expertise of Suzanne, "the match" between Girlie and I is one that will last a lifetime! I truly learn something new every day I ride her.
I love to share stories with Suzanne about what Girlie and I have been up to because she truly cares about the horses she sells. A dedicated concern for these animals is a rare quality to find in the horse industry!
When my children are of the age to ride, I know exactly where to go for the ponies!! Suzanne Fisher makes buying a horse a pleasurable experience!

Better Day Farms — Susan Vitro, Owner (Bedford Hills & Saratoga, NY)
Having known and done business with Tashua Farm for nearly ten years, I would have to say that one of Suzanne's most striking qualities is her commitment to the highest level of achievement possible in all situations. Suzanne has the knowledge and perseverance to make things work out for her horses, ponies and students so that all involved feel a sense of accomplishment and pride in their equine endeavors. I would recommend Tashua Farm to anyone who wishes to enjoy and excel in the sport at any level.

Kaitlin Eckenberger (Weston, CT)
Even though I am the newest addition to the Tashua Family and have been here for 6 months I have a lot to say. I mean, who couldn't if they spent almost every day with a person for 6 months and have sold, bought, lessoned, showed, and done a lot more with that special person. I moved to Tashua Farm only 6 months ago and was 13 years old as a green rider with the ambition to show. I had a pony named "Rum brook Siobhan". Suzanne and I immediately started to work with her for many long months until my pony and I clicked, and never once did I feel scared she took her time and that's what everyone loves about her. If I felt scared, I would just have to tell her she helped me find the confidence I needed. Suzanne also helped my progress through thick and thin and much faster than I though possible! I accomplished more than I did in the past in a month or so from Suzanne's impeccable learning strategies!
In the spring we sold Darby to a young girl named Emily and they now live happily together in NJ with a much better start than Darby and I had had. Suzanne made the selling process much faster than we had dreamed of doing and much easier on me and my family! Which helps when you are looking for another horse. And trust me its doesn't take long with Suzanne to find you a new horse!
My hopes to show had grew and Suzanne started to look for a perfect match for me, whom we found in a massive 16.3 hand Warm Blood named Nemo, we had still had Darby but Suzanne worked with my parents to come up with a solution. Once we had bought Nemo he traveled down to Tashua Farm, the cleanest barn and quietest barn you have ever been in, settled in beautifully. Suzanne has been my inspiration for the 6 months I have been here and I would never think of leaving, selling, buying or lessoning with anyone else. Don't get me wrong I had my bumps and even falls, but Suzanne makes everyone stronger in some way, shape, or form.
I appreciate Suzanne's patience and detail attentiveness and dedication to make me what I am today. Without her wisdom and strength, I would not be the rider or person I am today.
And who could forget the Back bone of Tashua, Rich! Rich is Suzanne's husband and is probably the funniest and nicest guy you have ever met! Rich helps Suzanne with the barn work and loves to walk with the dog named Mackey that is shown in the picture section! If you get the chance to ride or even talk to Suzanne or Rich you will understand the lovely trainer, rider, people, and get the feeling of the utmost dedication to the sport we are looking at this website today…Riding!

Mike & Debbie Breck — (Fairfield, CT)
We've been clients of Tashua Farm for many years and wouldn't think of buying, selling or boarding our horses anywhere else. Suzanne really knows the business and has represented us with the utmost professionalism in all of our transactions. The last time we sold a horse, the deal was done in 3 days! And the care that she and her team give the animals we've boarded there is really something special. We have experience with other facilities in and around Fairfield County, and frankly no one even comes close to matching the skill and loving attention that Tashua offers. On top of that, Suzanne is the best trainer our daughter has ever had - and she's got a roomful of ribbons to prove it! So regardless of whether you're a novice, intermediate or pro - if you're looking for someone you can trust when it comes to horses - make a visit to Tashua Farm your first stop!

HP Stables — Debie Moon, Owner/Trainer (Norwich, NY)
We first met Suzanne at the Pony Finals sale in 2000. I had a young, green pony to sell and was nervous about selling him to 'just anyone'. Suzanne showed an interest in the pony and we were able to agree on a price. I felt confident in her abilities, professionalism, and integrity. Since then we have sold several other ponies and horses through her. Whenever I have something really nice to sell, I call Suzanne first!

Camelot Farms of Westchester, Ltd. — Lonnie Lum-Curran, Owner/Trainer (Bedford, NY)
I have bought several horses with Tashua Farm and Suzanne Fisher. My experience with her has always been wonderful. She has always been professional, upfront and very honest when representing the horses she is selling. I always recommend her when others are looking for quality horses/ponies to buy!

Marisa Ferrigno (Naugatuck, CT)
I moved to Tashua Farm when I was twelve years old as a novice rider with the ambition to show. It is now sixteen years later and I am just as happy as I was the day I walked in. My show career at Tashua began when Suzanne found me a wonderful medium pony, Shadrack. While Shadrack knew his job, I was busy building my confidence and developing my skills as a rider.
I continued showing as a junior and adult rider with many successes and Suzanne by my side each step of the way. I believe I achieved my goals and I owe a great deal to Suzanne in helping me achieve them. My biggest success came with a horse by the name of Real McKoy. I bought him as a three year old and through time and many lessons with Suzanne, we trained him to become my adult amateur horse. The year 1999 is a year in which I will never forget. Real Mckoy and I finished third in the nation, Reserve Champion in the Zone 1 Finals, Reserve Champion at the CHJA Hunter Finals, and CHJA end-of year Reserve Champion. I was also awarded Best Adult Rider at the Zone 1 Finals that year.
Suzanne has always looked out for my safety and best interests. In addition, I applaud Suzanne's treatment of and dedication to her horses. Her days are spent in the barn, monitoring, caring for, and working with each and every horse. The care at Tashua is impeccable and I always felt secure with my animals in her hands.
I appreciate Suzanne's patience and professional manner. I am in awe of her ability to deliver individualized attention to her riders. Her knowledge has guided me for sixteen years. Without her wisdom and strength, I would not be the rider or person I am today. She will serve as a role model to me for the rest of my life. I thank you, Suzanne, for all these wonderful years.

Mary Ann Thomas Funk Ashwood Farm (Manhattan, Kansas)
I came into contact with Suzanne Fisher, owner of Tashua Farm, in the summer of 2002. She purchased an exceptional two year old pony from our breeding program that summer. Since then, we have kept in regular contact, and I am very impressed with the slow, correct path she has taken with this promising youngster. I could not have placed him in better hands!

Barbara Lazarski (Bristol, CT)
Suzanne contacted me to see if we would do a testimonial for her web site and we would love to contribute, we respect her very much. What are you looking for exactly? She represented a pony for sale for us (my daughter and I) and we could speak to her care and concern for animals in her care and the people that own them, her professionalism, her knowledge, her values in a field not exactly known for honest dealings. Whatever you need.
It was a very emotional time for my daughter giving up her pony and Suzanne handled the sale with the utmost concern for Katie's feelings which made the whole process for my family so much easier. We would not hesitate to recommend Tashua Farm to anyone and will be willing customers for the purchase of our next horse.
